Linthwaite (known as Linfit in the local community) is a village in West Yorkshire, England. It is situated 4 miles (6 km) west of Huddersfield, on the A62 in the Colne Valley. The village together with Blackmoorfoot had a population of 3,835 according to the 2001 census. The A62 is a major road in Northern England that runs between the two major cities of Manchester and Leeds. The road is approximately 40 miles (65 km) long. It runs north east from Manchester (beginning as Oldham Street and Oldham Road) through Failsworth and Oldham then Saddleworth before crossing the Pennines at Standedge into West Yorkshire. Continuing through Marsden, Slaithwaite, Linthwaite, Huddersfield, Liversedge, Heckmondwike and Birstall.

Colne Valley Museum
The Colne Valley Museum is located within the Colne Valley at Golcar, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. The museum consists of three converted 19th century weaver's cottages. The museum provides an insight into what life was like for a weaver in the early 1850s. The museum includes a clog maker's workshop, a handloom chamber, a spinning room, a cropping room, kitchen and living rooms. The museum is run entirely by voluntary members.
