Bungonia, New South Wales

Bungonia is a small town in the Southern Tablelands in New South Wales, Australia in Goulburn Mulwaree. In 2006, Bungonia had a population of 258 people. The name of the town derives from an Aboriginal word meaning 'sandy creek'. It was originally called Inverary. A post office opened at Inverary in 1832 and was renamed Bungonia in 1836. When the Great Southern Road bypassed the town, it ceased to grow beyond a very small village.

Bungonia State Recreation Area

The Bungonia State Recreation Area (SRA) is a nature reserve near the city of Goulburn, New South Wales Australia. The SRA is about 35 kilometres east of Goulburn and about 125 kilometres south-west of Sydney, and it adjoins the Morton National Park. The area features dramatic cliffs, gorges and a network of caves. Besides caving, it is popular for bushwalking, camping, and various types of adventure activities.

Marulan Parish

The Parish of Marulan is a parish of Argyle County based around the town of Marulan, and also including Marulan South. The parish is bounded by Barbers Creek to the east, a small part of the Shoalhaven River to the south-east, and Jerrara Creek to the south. The Hume Highway and the Southern Highlands railway line run through the parish. Jerrara Road and Marulan South Road are other main roads in the area.

Nattery Parish

The Parish of Nattery is a parish of Argyle County located between Goulburn and Marulan in New South Wales. It is just east of the village of Towrang. The Wollondilly River is the boundary in the north-west. Jerraba creek is part of the boundary in the south-east. The Southern Highlands railway line runs through the northern end of the parish, to the east of the Wollondilly river. The Hume Highway passes through the middle of the parish.
