Eumeralla River

The Eumeralla River is a river in southwestern Victoria, Australia. It is one of two rivers flowing into Lake Yambuk at the Yambuk Important Bird Area which empties into Bass Strait, the other being the Shaw River. It is sourced from a number of creeks near Macarthur. It lends its name to the Eumeralla Wars, the conflict between European settlers and the earlier indigenous inhabitants.

Shaw River (Victoria)

The Shaw River is a river in southwestern Victoria, Australia. It is one of two rivers flowing into Lake Yambuk at the Yambuk Important Bird Area which empties into Bass Strait, the other being the Eumeralla River. Its source is to the east of Macarthur. It was named by Major Mitchell in 1836 after General Sir James Shaw Kennedy, a Peninsular War veteran .

Mount Eccles National Park

Mount Eccles National Park is a national park in Victoria, Australia, 270 km west of Melbourne. Mount Eccles is located inside the national park and is the site of the most recent active volcano in Australia. The first activity was about 40,000 years ago when Mount Eccles was formed by lava pouring out the Earth's crust. The most recent eruption was approximately 8,000 years ago.

Kanawinka Geopark

The Kanawinka Geoparkhttp://www. kanawinkageopark. com/, named for Kanawinka, “Land of Tomorrow”, is situated along a structurally controlling geological fault of the same name that extends from the Narracoorte Caves in South Australia into Western Victoria, before disappearing offshore at Portland. Kanawinka is a parish name in the County of Follett near Casterton and Coleraine.

Codrington, Victoria

Codrington is a locality on Portland Bay in the south-west of Victoria, Australia. The Princes Highway passes through it. At the 2006 census, it and the neighbouring township of Yambuk and the surrounding area had a population of 540. It is the site of Pacific Hydro’s Yambuk Wind Farm and the adjacent Codrington Wind Farm. Codrington is notable for the wind farm and for being the only township in Australia to be named after a bushranger.
