Licola, Victoria

Licola is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on Licola Road, in the Shire of Wellington, 254 kilometres east of Melbourne. At the 2006 census, Licola and the surrounding area had a population of 21. The Lions Club owns a large section of land in Licola and operates a youth camp on site, the Lions Wilderness Village, which is immediately surrounded by farm land. The town is the southern gateway to the Alpine National Park. Its main industries are tourism, logging and farming.

Macalister River

The Macalister River is a river of Gippsland in southeastern Victoria, Australia. It supports agriculture around the town of Licola and feeds into Lake Glenmaggie. The river was named by explorer Angus McMillan after his then employer, Captain Lachlan Macalister .

Lake Tali Karng

Tali Karng is the only natural lake in the Victorian Alps. It is the only deep lake in Victoria, and is 14 ha in area. Unlike alpine lakes in the Snowy Mountains, it was not created by glaciers; rather than being made 10,000 years ago, it was formed by a landslide 1500 years ago, this falling from the Sentinel, which is 700 m above the valley. The landslide dammed the Wellington River with the area of the landslide now known as the Valley of Destruction.

Moroka River

The Moroka River is a watercourse in the Victorian Alps in Australia. The river begins at Picture Point near Mount Wellington at an elevation of 1580 metres and continues for 48 kilometres before merging with the Wonnangatta River at an elevation of 353 metres. Tributaries include Carey Creek, Little River and Playboy Creek. Moroka Gorge is located at the foot of Mount Kent.
