Boolading, Western Australia

Boolading is a location located along the Coalfields Road between Darkan and Collie in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. The name is Aboriginal in origin but the meaning is unknown. The word Boola means plenty or abundance of in the local dialect. Boolading began as a railway siding when the WAGR constructed in 1907. The townsite was later gazetted in 1909 and the name was suggested by the district surveyor after a property owned by an acquaintance of his, William Gibbs.

Shire of West Arthur

The Shire of West Arthur is a local government area in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, generally to the west of Albany Highway about 200 kilometres south-east of Perth, the state capital. The Shire covers an area of 2,834 square kilometres and its seat of government is the town of Darkan.

Bowelling, Western Australia

Bowelling is the location of a former railway station in the south west region of Western Australia It was a junction of the Narrogin to Collie (Usually known as the Bowelling to Narrogin railway) and the Wagin to Collie (Usually known as the Bowelling to Wagin railway) railway lines. Narrogin and Wagin were the locations of junctions on the Great Southern railway, while the railway to Collie connected with the South western railway at Brunswick Junction.
