The Shire of West Arthur is a local government area in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, generally to the west of Albany Highway about 200 kilometres south-east of Perth, the state capital. The Shire covers an area of 2,834 square kilometres and its seat of government is the town of Darkan.

Arthur River (Western Australia)

The Arthur River is located in the south-west of Western Australia. The headwaters of the Arthur River is located about 30 km North of Wagin in the Arthur River Nature Reserve near the small settlement of Arthur River on Albany Highway. The longest tributary of Arthur River is Beaufort River but other tributaries include Hillman River, Kojonup Brook, Narrogin Brook and Yilliminning River.
