Kellerberrin, Western Australia

Kellerberrin is a town in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, 205 kilometres east of Perth on the Great Eastern Highway. The railway line from Northam to Southern Cross was constructed through here in 1893-94, and this section opened for traffic in 1895. Kellerberrin was one of the original stations when the line opened. By 1898 there was a demand for small blocks of land in the area, and the government surveyed a number of 20-acre lots the same year.

Shire of Kellerberrin

The Shire of Kellerberrin is a local government area in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, about 60 kilometres west of Merredin and about 200 kilometres east of Perth, the state capital. The Shire covers an area of 1,917 square kilometres and its seat of government is the town of Kellerberrin.

Yorkrakine

Yorkrakine is a small town in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, and is part of the Shire of Tammin, 203 kilometres east of the state capital, Perth. At the 2006 census, Yorkrakine had a population of 117. The locality was once home to a school and general store but declining population and improved transport links have seen them both close. The Agricultural Hall (built in 1926) continues to host community functions.

Doodlakine, Western Australia

Doodlakine is a town 220 km east of Perth, Western Australia. It is within the Shire of Kellerberrin along the Great Eastern Highway. The town contains a crossing loop for trains on the Perth-to-Kalgoorlie railway and serves as a stop on the Avonlink rural train service. The area was first visited by Europeans in 1864 when explorers came and charted the area. The word Doodlakine is Aboriginal word for a particular rock formation north of the townsite.

Tammin, Western Australia

Tammin is a town in the central agricultural region of Western Australia, 184 kilometres east of Perth and midway between the towns of Cunderdin and Kellerberrin on the Great Eastern Highway. The surrounding areas produce wheat and other cereal crops. The town is a receival site for Cooperative Bulk Handling.
