Ybbstal Alps

The Ybbstal Alps are a mountain range in the Northern Limestone Alps and therefore belong to the Eastern Alps. They occupy an area along the borders of Upper Austria, Lower Austria and Styria. The range includes the eastern part of the Eisenwurzen, as well as the Göstling Alps and the Kräuterin in the south. The Göstling Alps are home to the popular skiing area at Hochkar (1,880 meters). Their highest peak is the Hochstadl, at 1,919 meters above sea level.

Hochschwab

The Hochschwab (or Hochschwabgruppe) is a mountain range in the Northern Limestone Alps of Austria. The range is in Steiermark. Grüner See (Styria)

Grüner See (Green Lake) is a lake in Styria, Austria near the town of Tragöß. The lake is surrounded by the Hochschwab mountains and forests. The name "Green Lake" originated because of its emerald green water. The clean and clear water comes from the snowmelt from the karst mountains and has a temperature of 6–7 °C (43–45 °F). During the winter, the lake is only 1–2 m deep and the surrounding area is used as a county park.

Ybbs

Ybbs is a river in Lower Austria, and in Austria also the common short form to designate the little town Ybbs an der Donau. Its source is located on the Zellerrain Pass near Mariazell. The river is called the Weiße Ois in the beginning, then onwards from the border between Lower Austria and Styria to Lunz am See it is called the Ois, and from there until it meets the Danube at Ybbs an der Donau, it is called the Ybbs.
