Rupel

The Rupel is a tidal river in northern Belgium, right tributary of the Scheldt. It is about 12 km long. It flows through the Belgian province Antwerp. It is formed by the confluence of the rivers Dijle and Nete, in Rumst. It flows into the Scheldt at Rupelmonde. Towns along the Rupel are Rumst, Boom and Niel. The Rupel is navigable, and forms part of the waterway to Brussels.

Hazewinkel

The Hazewinkel is a Bloso 2,000 m rowing and regatta course in Heindonk, belonging to the municipality of Willebroek, near Mechelen, Belgium. The site consists of a finishing tower, boathouses, a cafeteria and eight basic huts that house athletes using the lake. The course hosts the Great Britain Rowing team's national final trials every year and, in July 1996 and 2006, the World Rowing Under 23 Championships too.

Heindonk

Heindonk is a village in Belgium, north of Brussels and south of Antwerp. It is situated west from the town of Mechelen, belonging to the municipality of Willebroek, in the province of Antwerp. In Heindonk is The Hazewinkel, a 2,000 m rowing and regatta course, where many World Championships Rowing took place. Apart from the Hazewinkel Heindonk is surrounded by water and nature.

Breendonk

Breendonk is a small town in Belgium, population 3,000, halfway between Brussels and Antwerp. Its name stems from the medieval Bredene Dunc which translates as "wide mound" or "a dry spot in the marshes. " In the 19th century it was known for its beautiful Neo-Gothic church and the lavish mansion of the Earl de Buisseret. Both were destroyed by the Belgian army at the start of World War I because they obstructed the gunner's view from the local fortifications.

Dijle

The Dijle or Dyle, or historically the River Dyle in English, is a river in central Belgium, left tributary of the Rupel. It is 86 km long. It flows through the Belgian provinces of Walloon Brabant, Flemish Brabant and Antwerp. Its source is in Houtain-le-Val, near Nivelles in Walloon Brabant. The most important cities along the Dyle are (starting from the source) Ottignies, Wavre, Leuven and Mechelen. The latter is often called the 'Dijlestad' (Dyle City).
