Redemptiedorpen

The Redemptiedorpen are a group of small villages north of Liège, Belgium. Their ownership was disputed between the United Provinces and the Duchy of Brabant since the 17th century. The areas retained independence, with the condition that they pay taxes to both powers. In practice, they were closely linked to the tweeherigheid of Maastricht.

Diets-Heur is a village and deelgemeente of Tongeren in the province of Limburg, Flemish region, Belgium. It is a small, rural village with a population of approximately 200 people. Diets-Heur means Dutch-Heur in old Dutch and differentiates the village from Heure-le-Romain (Romance or French Heur) 15 kilometers away in Wallonia.

Hex Castle

Heks Castle (Dutch: Kasteel van Heks) is a mansion in the village of Heks in the municipality of Heers, province of Limburg, Belgium. The house was built in the 1770s by the Liège architect Etienne Fayen for the Prince-Bishop of Liège, Franz Karl, Count of Velbrück (1719-1784).

Waroux Castle

Waroux Castle is a castle in Belgium, located in Alleur in the municipality of Ans, province of Liège, and the old region of Hesbaye. Waroux was one of the rare circular castles in Belgium. The keep still remains of the medieval structure. For centuries it was the property of the de Waroux family until 1525, when it died by marriage. In 1696 it was apparently acquired by the De Clerkx de Waroux family, who remained the owners until 1925.
