Tiwanaku

Tiwanaku, (Spanish: Tiahuanaco and Tiahuanacu) is an important Pre-Columbian archaeological site in western Bolivia, South America. Tiwanaku is recognized by Andean scholars as one of the most important precursors to the Inca Empire, flourishing as the ritual and administrative capital of a major state power for approximately five hundred years.

Kalasasaya

The Kalasasaya (kala for stone; saya or sayasta for standing up) or Stopped Stones is a major archaeological structure that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tiwanaku. The Kalasasaya is low platform mound with a large courtyard that is surrounded by high stone walls. The Kalasasaya is about 120 by 130 meters in dimension and aligned to the cardinal directions. Like the other platform mounds within Tiwanaka, it has a central sunken court.

Pumapunku

Pumapunku also called "Puma Pumku" or "Puma Puncu", is part of a large temple complex or monument group that is part of the Tiwanaku Site near Tiwanaku, Bolivia. Tiwanaku is significant in Incan traditions because it is believed to be the site where the world was created. In Aymara, Puma Punku's name means "The Door of the Puma".
