Ch'iyar Quta (Nor Lípez)

Ch'iyar Quta (Aymara ch'iyara black, quta lake, "black lake", hispanicized spellings Chiar Kkota, Chiar Khota, Chiar Kota) is a Bolivian lake located in the Nor Lípez Province of the Potosí Department near the border to Chile. It is situated at a height of about 4,201 meters (13,783 feet) south west of Laguna Hedionda and east of Mount Araral.

Laguna Hedionda (Nor Lípez)

Laguna Hedionda is a saline lake in the Nor Lípez Province, Potosí Department in Bolivia. It is notable for various migratory species of pink and white flamingos. The lake, for many years, was also called "Stinking Lake" and appeared on most maps with this name. The Spanish version of the name La Laguna Grande Hedionda means "a spring of sulphur-tainted water near the lake. " The Laguna Hedionda is one of the nine small saline lakes in the Andean Altiplano.

Salar de Ascotán

Salar de Ascotán, also known as Salar de Cebollar, is a salt flat in northern Chile. Its drainage basin is 1,455 square kilometers and is shared with Bolivia. The basin is bordered on the north by the Salar de Carcote basin, on the east by small endorheic basins, including those of Laguna Cañapa and Laguna Hedionda, from which is separated by the crest of the Cerros de Cañapa, Cerro Araral and others.

Cerro del Azufre

Cerro del Azufre is a stratovolcano located in El Loa Province, Antofagasta Region, Chile. It is part of a chain of volcanoes that separate Upper Loa River basin from Salar de Ascotán basin and is flanked to the west by a dacitic lava dome called Chanka or Pabellón. The 6000 metre volcanoes San Pedro and San Pablo are located to the southwest of Cerro del Azufre.
