Costa Marques
Costa Marques is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Rondônia. Its population was 11,349 (2005) and its area is 12,722 km². The city is located in the Guaporé River's right bank and the main attraction is Forte Príncipe da Beira or Fortress Bank's Prince, which was built in 1786, by the Portuguese Kingdom, to protect that region from the Spanish Crown.

Fort Prince of Beira
Principe da Beira ist a settlement at the lower parts of the Guaporé River close to its confluence with the Mamoré River in the Brazilian state of Rondônia. The settlement is particularly known for the fort of the same name just next to it. The fort was built 1776-1783 and is one of only two forts that the Portuguese Empire built in the inner regions of Brasil.
