Yardzhilovtsi

Yardzhilovtsi is the biggest village in the municipality of Pernik, it is situated on the Pernik - Trun road and 40 km. east of the Serbian border. The world weightlifting champion Yoto Yotov is a native of the village. The village's carnival troop is famous around the world and a constant in international carnivals with its vibrant dress, traditions and temper.

Viskyar Mountain

Viskyar Mountain is a minor range of hills in western Bulgaria rising to 1077 m (Mechi Kamak Peak), and bounded by Lyulin Mountain to the southeast, Sofia Valley to the northeast, Zavalska Mountain to the northwest, and Graovo Valley to the southwest. It is separated from the Lyulin and Zavalska hills by Raduyska Saddle and Yaroslavska Saddle, respectively. The Saints Peter and Paul Monastery situated on the northern slopes of Viskyar is a popular tourist destination.

2012 Pernik earthquake

The 2012 Pernik earthquake was a 5.6 Mw magnitude earthquake, which struck 24 km (15 miles) west of Bulgaria's capital Sofia and 9 km (6 miles) north-northwest of the provincial center Pernik on 22 May 2012 at 3:00 am local time at a depth of 9.4 kilometers .

Delyan, Sofia Province

Delyan is a village in the Sofia Province, western Bulgaria, near the town of Breznik. The old historic name of the village is Karnul. As of 2007, the village has only 18 permanent inhabitants. Delyan is located in the municipality of Bozhurishte, 34 km west of Sofia on the eastern slopes of Viskyar Mountain with an average altitude of 790 meters. Its houses are nestled in a beautiful valley between three small peaks of Viskyar.
