Rosebud River

The Rosebud River is a major tributary of the Red Deer River in Alberta, Canada. The Rosebud River passes through agricultural lands and ranchland for most of its course, and through badlands in its final reaches. It provides water for irrigation canals through a variety of dams built on its course and that of its tributaries. The name is a translation of the Blackfoot word Akokiniskway, meaning "the river of many roses".

Crossfield, Alberta

Crossfield is a town in southern Alberta, Canada within Rocky View County. Crossfield is located 43 kilometers or 27 miles north of the City of Calgary, on Highway 2. As a rail station on the Calgary to Edmonton (C&E) line of the Canadian Pacific Railway, Crossfield was founded in 1892. Crossfield was named after an engineer with the Canadian Pacific Railway survey crew. In 1980, the Town of Crossfield was incorporated. The Town of Crossfield is a member of the Calgary Regional Partnership.

Olds-Didsbury

Olds-Didsbury was a provincial electoral district in central southern Alberta, Canada. The riding was created in 1963 as a merger between the Olds and Didsbury ridings. In 1997 the riding merged with the north part of Three Hills-Airdrie to form Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills, the south part became Airdrie-Rocky View. This riding was the location of a famous by-election in 1982, when the separatist Western Canada Concept achieved victory.

Madden, Alberta

Madden is a hamlet in southern Alberta under the jurisdiction of Rocky View County. Madden is located approximately 46 kilometres north of Downtown Calgary on Highway 574, 16 kilometres west of the Town of Crossfield on Highway 2A and 19 kilometres west of Highway 2. The hamlet was named after Bernard Madden, and early pioneer and a prominent rancher who arrived in the area in 1876. The post office was opened on May 1, 1931.
