Stony Mountain, Manitoba

Stony Mountain is a small community in Manitoba, Canada located approximately 11 kilometres north of Winnipeg on Provincial Highway 7. The town is located in the Rural Municipality of Rockwood and is the location of Stony Mountain Ski Area. The Stony Mountain Institution (medium security) and the Rockwood Institution (minimum security) prisons are both located in Stony Mountain. It is the birthplace of hockey hall of famer Babe Pratt.

Stony Mountain Ski Area

Stony Mountain Ski Area is located just northeast of Stony Mountain, Manitoba, Canada and is 11km north of the Perimeter Highway. The Ski hill is approximately 245m (800ft) above sea level. The ski hill has 2 lifts - one handle tow and one rope tow. The hill has a 30m (100ft) vertical drop.
