Gunton, Manitoba

Gunton is a small hamlet of about 50 people located 40 kilometers north of Winnipeg, Manitoba in the RM of Rockwood. It has no major industry as most residents work in Winnipeg or surrounding towns. Claims to fame include a bull test station (the only one in the Interlake) and a long-abandoned quarry, recently seen in the 1997 made-for-TV movie, Trucks.

Lakeside (electoral district)

Lakeside is a provincial electoral division in Manitoba, Canada. It is located to the immediate northwest of the city of Winnipeg. Traditionally a rural riding, Lakeside has become more urban in recent years (as a result of both electoral redistribution and changes in demography). All the same, agriculture accounted for 17% of the riding's industry in 1999. The riding is bordered to the north by Interlake, to the west by Portage La Prairie, to the south by Morris and to the east by Gimli.

Balmoral, Manitoba

Balmoral, Manitoba is a community north of Winnipeg located within the boundaries of the Rural Municipality of Rockwood. The Post Office opened in 1879 to service the early settlers who began arriving in the area in 1874. There was also a Canadian Pacific railway point on 6-15-2E. The community was named after Balmoral Castle in Scotland. A School District was located on SW7-15-2E. The community was originally known as Quickfall.

Rockwood is a rural municipality lying north of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is part of the Winnipeg Capital Region and had a 2011 census population of 7,964.
