Harbour Grace South, Newfoundland and Labrador

Harbour Grace was a small community served by the Canadian National Railway. In 1853 the Postmaster was Andrew Drysdale. It is located on the western shore of Conception Bay. Harbour Grace Junction was a small community later named Whitburn. The first Waymaster was Wilcox Spracklin.

Bristol's Hope, Newfoundland and Labrador

Bristol's Hope is the modern name of a community in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is located on Conception Bay between Carbonear and Harbour Grace. The place names Musket's Cove and Mosquito have been used since about the 1630s to refer to the area now called Bristol's Hope . The community was renamed in 1904 to commemorate the 1617 outpost of that name, an offshoot of the John Guy colony established at Cupids, ten miles away, in 1610 (Dale 1981a).

Upper Island Cove

Upper Island Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador is a town (Incorporated on October 19, 1965) in Newfoundland and Labrador. It is located in Division No. 1, Newfoundland and Labrador census division. It is north east of Bay Roberts. The Way office was established in 1864. The population was 942 in 1940; 1,346 in 1951, 1,563 in 1956, and 1762 in 1966. As of 2001, the population is 1,774.

Harbour Grace

Harbour Grace is a town in Conception Bay on the Avalon Peninsula in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. With roots dating back to the sixteenth century, it is one of the oldest towns in North America. It is located about 45 km northwest of the provincial capital, St. John's. The town has a population of 3,074 (2006), engaged primarily in fishing and fish processing. The alternative spelling Harbor Grace was current at one time.
