Jack Lake (Peterborough County)

Jack Lake is a small headwater/ feedwater lake in Ontario, Canada, within the northern portion of the Kawartha lakes region which is located at the southern end of the Canadian Shield. The clean freshwater lake which has a reasonably complex limnology is located in northern Peterborough County, approximately 100 mi (160 km) directly northeast of Toronto. There is a resort on the north-western shore of the lake, and the nearest town is Apsley, Ontario.

Chandos Lake

Chandos Lake is a lake in North Kawartha, Ontario, Canada. The lake is in the shape of a reversed L, with three main bays: West Bay, connected to the main body of the lake by a long Narrows; South Bay, extending southwest and separated by a curved peninsula; and Gilmour's Bay, a smaller, two-lobed bay on the southern tip of the lake, connected by Gilmour's Bay Narrows.

Kawartha Nordic Ski Club

The Kawartha Nordic Ski Club (KNSC) is a Nordic ski area located in North Kawartha township, Peterborough County, Ontario. It was founded in 1976 by a group of avid cross country skiers in Peterborough, Ontario. Today, it offers over 40 kilometres of both classic and skate trails, as well as 10 km of snowshoe trails through scenic, Canadian Shield wilderness. KNSC is a not-for-profit organization, governed by a volunteer board of directors, and operated by numerous volunteers.

Eels Lake

Eels Lake is a lake of Ontario, Canada. Eel Cow, an Ojibwe chieftain, claimed this area and surrounding land as his family’s hunting and fishing territory in the early 1800. The lake still bears his name and is one of the larger lakes in the region. The popular Cottage Country destination lake has some very interesting shoreline and underwater structure.

Petroglyphs Provincial Park

Petroglyphs Provincial Park is a historical-class provincial park situated in Woodview, Ontario, Canada, northeast of Peterborough. It has the largest collection of ancient First Nations petroglyphs (rock carvings) in Ontario. The carvings were created in the pre-Columbian era and represents aspects of First Nations spirituality, including images of shamans, animals, reptiles, and, possibly, the Great Spirit itself.
