Eganville, Ontario

Eganville is a small community occupying a deep limestone valley carved at the Fifth Chute of the Bonnechere River in Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada. It is in the township of Bonnechere Valley. This village also has two of the most popular restaurants in the upper Ottawa Valley: The Granary (Austrian cuisine) and Frisco's Grill. In 2009, Eganville became the home of the Stone Fence Theatre's productions of local historical and musical dinner theatre.

Opeongo High School

Opeongo High School is a secondary school in Renfrew County, Ontario that serves the townships of Whitewater Region, Laurentian Valley, Admaston Bromley, Bonnechere Valley, and North Algona-Wilberforce. It was built in 1968, at a cost of $3.5 million, to accommodate a growing population of students and a change in educational trends. It has a student population of between 400 to 500 students. Its colours are green and gold, and its mascot is the Wildcat.

Lake Doré

Lake Doré is a freshwater lake in the township of North Algona-Wilberforce, Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, about 6 kilometres north of the community of Eganville in the neighbouring township of Bonnechere Valley. It is the largest inland freshwater lake in the world without an island.

Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation

The Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation, formerly known as the Golden Lake First Nation, are an Algonquin First Nation in Ontario, Canada. Their territory is located in the former township of South Algona (now part of Bonnechere Valley) in the Ottawa Valley on Golden Lake. As of October, 2008, the registered population of the First Nation was 1,992 people, of which only 406 people lived on their own reserve.

Blithfield meteorite

The Blithfield meteorite was found by Mr. Joseph Legree in Blithfield Township, Renfrew County, Ontario and measured about 8 centimetres x 10 centimetres x 13.5 centimetres . The main mass is now in the Canadian National collection, Ottawa. Blithfield is an enstatite chondrite, a group of very unusual meteorites that were formed in a very reducing atmosphere. It is a breccia, one of only five known enstatite chondrite breccias.
