La Baie, Quebec

La Baie is a borough of the city of Saguenay, Quebec, located where the Rivière à Mars flows into the Baie des Ha! Ha!, a bay of the Saguenay River. Formerly an independent city, its population in 2006 was 19,639. La Baie was created by the result of the merger of the towns of Bagotville, Port-Alfred and Grande-Baie in 1976. In 2002, it was further amalgamated into the city of Saguenay.

Université du Québec à Chicoutimi

The Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC) is a branch of the Université du Québec founded in 1969 and based in the Chicoutimi borough of Saguenay, Quebec. UQAC has secondary study centers in La Malbaie, Saint-Félicien, Alma and Sept-Îles. In 2003, 6583 students were registered and 209 professors worked for the university, making it the third largest of the ten Université du Québec branches, after UQAM and UQTR.

Cégep de Chicoutimi is a French-language general and professional educational college (CEGEP) located in the Chicoutimi borough of Saguenay, Quebec, Canada. It was the first CEGEP recognized as such in Quebec after the institution of the CEGEP system in 1967.

Centre Georges-Vézina

The Centre Georges-Vézina, formerly the Colisée de Chicoutimi, is a 4,724 capacity (3,683 seated) multi-purpose arena in Chicoutimi, Quebec, Canada. The arena was built in 1949 and features an Olympic-sized ice pad of 200' X 100'. It is named in honour of former Montreal Canadiens goalie and native from Chicoutimi Georges Vézina. It is home to the Chicoutimi Saguenéens ice hockey team of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League since 1973.
