Chicureo

Chicureo (from Mapudungun Chikümn rewe, "place where lances are set up") is a Chilean town, located in the commune of Colina, Chacabuco Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region. Predominantly an agricultural area, Chicureo is home to several haciendas. As part of the town's history, Chicureo's 100-year-old northeast zone manor house, Hacienda Guay-Guay, is preserved intact.

Battle of Chacabuco

The Battle of Chacabuco, fought during the Chilean War of Independence, occurred on February 12, 1817. The Army of the Andes of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata led by General Captain José de San Martín defeated the Spanish force led by Rafael Maroto. It was a defeat for the Captaincy General of Chile, the Spain-controlled government established after the division of the Viceroyalty of Peru.

Monument to the Victory of Chacabuco

The Monument to the Victory of Chacabuco, also known as the Monument to the Battle of Chacabuco (truly To the Victory of Chacabuco), is a monument that commemorates the Battle of Chacabuco, which took place on February 12, 1817. It was designed by Héctor Román Latorre and built in 1971. It is 20 meters tall. It is located in the General San Martín highway, close to Los Andes, in Colina commune.

Vespucio Norte metro station

Vespucio Norte is an underground metro station on the Line 2 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. It is the northern terminus of the Line 2 and provides 120 underground parking spaces. Built in open cut, the station has two side platforms and two tracks. At the center of the station a large mezzanine, without central support, spans over tracks and platforms, all of which are surmounted by a longitudinally curved ceiling.
