Huaca de Chena

Battle of Maipú

The Battle of Maipú was a battle fought near Santiago, Chile on April 5, 1818 between South American rebels and Spanish royalists, during the Chilean War of Independence. The Patriot rebels led by José de San Martín effectively destroyed the Spanish forces commanded by General Mariano Osorio, and completed the independence of the core area of Chile from Spanish domination.

Plaza de Maipú metro station

Plaza de Maipú is an underground metro station on the Line 5 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. The station is located under the Plaza de Armas of Maipú. It is the deepest station in the Santiago Metro system at 28 metres deep. The platform level of the station is built in a mined tunnel with an oval cross section. At their eastern ends, two also tunneled transepts open into a large, deep cut-and-cover box. The ticket hall is on the first level down of this volume.

Estadio Santiago Bueras

Estadio Santiago Bueras is a multi-use stadium in Maipu, Chile. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Magallanes. The stadium holds 5,000 people and was built in 1984.

Santiago Bueras metro station

Santiago Bueras is an underground metro station on the Line 5 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. It is named after Santiago Bueras, a fallen soldier during the Battle of Maipú. The station consists of a mined platform tunnel and transept, as well as a cut-and-cover shaft. There is an inverted pyramid roof over the paid area of the street-level ticket hall, which features V-shaped pillars and glazed walls.
