Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology

Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, formerly the Meteorology College of Nanjing University, was established in 1960 by the China Meteorological Administration, then changed the name into Nanjing Institute of Meteorology in May, 1963. NUIST is the oldest institution of higher learning of meteorology science in China. The administration of NUIST handed over from China Meteorological Administration to Jiangsu province in February, 2000.

Pukou District

Pukou, Jiangsu, China a district in the City of Nanjing which lies northwest across the Yangtze River from downtown Nanjing. The district was formerly the southern terminus of the Tianjin-Pukou Railway; railcars had to be ferried across the river until it was bridged in 1968.

Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge

The Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge is a double-decked road-rail truss bridge across the Yangtze River between Pukou and Xiaguan in Nanjing, China. Its upper deck is part of China National Highway 104, spanning 4,588 metres. Its lower deck is a 6,772-metre-long double-track railway and completes the Beijing-Shanghai Railway, which had been divided by the Yangtze for decades. Its right bridge consists of 9 piers, with the maximal span of 160 metres and the total length of 1576 metres.

Porcelain Tower of Nanjing

The Porcelain Tower (or Porcelain Pagoda) of Nanjing, also known as Bao'ensi (meaning "Temple of Repaid Gratitude"; Chinese: 大報恩寺, Da Bao'en Si), is a historical site located on the south bank of the Yangtze in Nanjing, China. It was a pagoda constructed in the 15th century during the Ming Dynasty, but was mostly destroyed in the 19th century during the course of the Taiping Rebellion.
