Battle of Nanshan

The Battle of Nanshan was one of many vicious land battles of the Russo-Japanese War. It took place on 25 May 1904 across a two-mile wide defense line across the narrowest part of the Liáodōng Peninsula, covering the approaches to Port Arthur and on the 116-meter high Nanshan Hill, the present-day Jinzhou District, north of the city center of Dalian, Liaoning, China.

Jinzhou Stadium

Jinzhou Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Dalian, Liaoning, China. It is currently used mostly for association football matches. The stadium holds 30,775 people and was built in 1997. Jinzhou District

Jinzhou District is one of the six districts of Dalian, Liaoning, China. It is located about 20 kilometres northeast of the city centre and facing the Bohai Sea to the west and has a longer history than Dalian itself, and used to be a thriving walled city where the officials of this area were dispatched from the central government. Recently, it is again a thriving town, having Dalian Development Area within its area as well as becoming a bedtown to downtown Dalian.

Kwantung Leased Territory

The Kwantung Leased Territory was a territory in the southern part of the Liaodong Peninsula in Manchuria that existed from 1898 to 1945. It was one of the numerous territorial concessions that the Empire of China was compelled to award to foreign countries at the end of the 19th century. The territory included the militarily and economically significant ports of Lüshunkou (Port Arthur, or Ryojun) and Dalian (Dal'niy, or Dairen).

Dalian Bay

Dalian Bay, is a bay on the southeast side of the Liaodong Peninsula of Northeast China, open to the Yellow Sea in the east. Downtown Dalian lies along the southern shore of the bay. Its significance is that it is ice-free year-round, while Jinzhou Bay (金州湾) on the other, northwest side of the peninsula is part of the Bohai Sea, and is shallow and closed for four months of the winter.
