Nanhui District

Nanhui District, formerly Nanhui County, was a district of Shanghai until it was merged into Pudong New Area in May 2009. It had a land area of about 809.5 km² and a 59.5-kilometer coastline. The population of Nanhui was 975,017 as of August 2006. On May 6, 2009, it was announced that the State Council of China had approved the proposal to merge Nanhui District into Pudong.

Fengxian District

The Fengxian District of Shanghai has a land area of 704.68 km, a registered population (as of 2010) of 1,083,400, and 1.5 to 2 times more migrants. It is known for its relative rusticity, as well as its beaches and ocean resorts. Bihai Jinsha (碧海金沙, "Blue Sea, Gold Beach") is a common place for Shanghainese to spend their weekend.

Donghai Bridge

Donghai Bridge is one of the longest cross-sea bridges in the world. It was completed on December 10, 2005. It has a total length of 32.5 kilometres and connects mainland Shanghai and the offshore Yangshan deep-water port in China. Most of the bridge is a low-level viaduct. There are also cable-stayed sections to allow for the passage of large ships, largest with span of 420 m. Donghai Bridge is part of the S2 Hulu Expressway.
