Ciboušov

Ciboušov (Ger. Zibich) is a small settlement near Klášterec nad Ohří (and is officially part of that town). The first recorded mention of Ciboušov dates back to 1367. At that time, the little village was subordinate to the castle of Hasištejn. Since then, it has often changed owners. Šumburks, Fictums and then was added to other villages or towns as their part. The population has been decreasing since the 19th century—from 99 in 1863 to just 29 in 1991.

Franciscan Monastery in Kadaň

The Franciscan Monastery lies on the edge of the town of Kadaň, Czech Republic and near the river Ohře. Its history dates back to the 15th century. It is now the seat of the Municipal Museum of Kadaň with e.g. the exposition of the conventual life. The church dedication to Fourteen Holy Helpers shows the contacts to then popular German shrines of the same cult. Around the building is a beautiful vineyard, a French park and a lot of plum trees.

Úhošť

Úhošť (German: Burberg or Burgberg) is a hill near Kadaň, Czech Republic between the villages Brodce and Pokutice. The hill is part of Doupov Mountains. It reaches the elevation of 592 metres and has the area of 282 acres (the area of the plateau on top is nearly 200 acres). It has been ranked among Czech National Natural Reservations since 1974. It is also a place where might have occurred the battle of Wogastisburg in 631AD.

Egerberk

Egerberk (or Egerberg, in Czech Lestkov) is a ruined castle near Klášterec nad Ohří. The name is derived from the German name of the Ohře river - Eger => Egerberg. The Czech name is by the village Lestkov, now an administrative part of Klášterec nad Ohří. First mentioned in 1317, the castle belonged to Wilhelm who first started to bear the attribute name "of Egerberg". Wilhelm was a friend of John of Luxembourg and accompanied him on his journeys.

Hasištejn Castle

Hasištejn is a ruined medieval castle in Bohemia, the Czech Republic. It is situated near Kadaň, Klášterec nad Ohří and Chomutov. The castle, first mentioned in Maiestas Carolina, was probably founded by Friedrich of Schönburg to guard the way from Prague to Saxony. The castle was seized by Václav IV of Luxembourg and it was given to the house of Lobkovic.
