Žďár nad Sázavou District

Žďár nad Sázavou District (Okres Žďár nad Sázavou in Czech) is a district within the Vysočina Region (Vysočina) of the Czech Republic. Its capital is Žďár nad Sázavou, a town of 24,000 inhabitants built on the river Sázava. The district's landscape is very pictoresque, consisting of a highland of rolling hills around the rivers Sázava, Oslava, Svratka and Chrudimka, covered by deep forests, lakes and fields.

Pilgrimage Church of Saint John of Nepomuk

The Pilgrimage Church of St John of Nepomuk at Zelená Hora (Gruenberg) is a religious building in Žďár nad Sázavou, Czech Republic, near the border between Bohemia and Moravia. It is the final work of Jan Santini Aichel, a Bohemian architect who combined the Borrominiesque Baroque with references to Gothic elements in both construction and decoration.
