The 1982 El Salvador earthquake occurred on 19 June 1982 at 00:21 local time . It was an Ms 7.2 earthquake, with epicenter being located in the Pacific Ocean about 60 km southeast of San Salvador, El Salvador. 8 people were reported dead, and 1630 houses were damaged. The earthquake triggered many landslides. The intensity in San Salvador reached MM VII.
