Nahuizalco is a municipality in the Sonsonate department of El Salvador. It lies on the "flowers route", 9 km from Sonsonate and 74 km from San Salvador, at 540 m above sea level on the southern part of the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountain range. There are strong indigenous customs. Its name in Nahuatl language means "place of four Izalcos "; by tradition, it was founded by four families from the nearby town of Izalco. Estadio Anna Mercedes Campos is a multi-use stadium in Sonsonate, El Salvador. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of C.D. Sonsonate. The stadium holds 8,000 spectators. It is named after Anna Mercedes Campos la “morocha”, a javelin gold medallist in the 1954 Central American and Caribbean Games held in Mexico.

Sonsonate Department
Sonsonate is a department of El Salvador in the western part of the country. The capital is Sonsonate. The department has a population of over 500,000 and an area of 1,226 km². Created on June 12, 1824. The El Salvador National Parliament deciced on January 29, 1859 to separate from the department the cities of Apaneca, San Pedro Puxtla, Guaymango and Jujutla and give these cities to Santa Ana Department. Sonsonate City was the second capital of the Federal Republic of Central America in 1834.

San Antonio del Monte is also a subdivision of Garafía in the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands San Antonio del Monte (Spanish for "Saint Anthony of the mountain") is a municipality in the Sonsonate department of El Salvador. The town was founded at the beginning of the 18th century by the friars of the convent of Santo Domingo of Sonsonate. It is located at 230 meters of height and at a kilometer to the west of the city of Las Palmeras.
