Grand Canal d'Alsace

The Grand Canal of Alsace is a canal in eastern France, channeling the Upper Rhine river. It is 50 kilometers (about 30 miles) long between Kembs and Vogelgrun, and provides access to the region from the Rhine River, Basel in Switzerland, and the North Sea for barges of up to 1,350 metric tons. The Grand Canal is larger than the Suez Canal and permits the navigation of more than 30,000 boats a year between Basel and Strasbourg.

Deutz (wine)

Deutz, formerly known as Deutz Geldermann, is a Champagne producer based in the Aÿ region of Champagne. The house was founded in 1838 and run by successive generations of the Deutz and Geldermann families. Deutz produces both vintage and non-vintage cuvée as well as a prestige wine known as Amour de Deutz. In 1983, the house was acquired by Louis Roederer which helped restore the house to better financial footing.

Normandie-Niemen

The Normandie-Niemen Regiment was a fighter squadron, later regiment (of three squadrons) of the French Air Force. St Martin's Church, Colmar
