Kochersberg

The Kochersberg is a natural region of the French département of Bas-Rhin in Alsace and is a part of the hills found along the eastern side of the Vosges mountains. It gave its name to the Community of Communes of the Kochersberg. Its name comes from the Kochersberg hill; its highest peak (301 m), stands over Neugartheim-Ittlenheim. A castle was built on its top in the 13th century but was destroyed three centuries later. Its only relief is its peripheral ditch.

Unterelsaß

Unterelsaß (or Unterelsass) (Lower Alsace, French: Basse-Alsace) was the name for a district ("Bezirk") in the northern part of Elsaß-Lothringen (Alsace-Lorraine) when it was part of the German Empire from 1871 to 1918. The capital of the district was Straßburg.

Château de Wangen

The Château de Wangen is a destroyed 13th century castle in the commune of Wangen in the Bas-Rhin département of France. Located within the urban area of Wangen, all that remains is the central space it occupied, its plan is still visible on land maps. The castle appears to date from the 13th century. It was mentioned as an episcopal fiefdom in 1359. In 1440, when Armagnac troops crossed the region in a campaign against Strasbourg, it suffered some damage.

Château d'Osthoffen

The Château d'Osthoffen is a château developed from an older castle situated in the commune of Osthoffen in the département of Bas-Rhin of France, located about 15 kilometres from Strasbourg. It is dated to the 12 or 13th century. It has been listed since 1963 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.

Château de Kolbsheim

The Château de Kolbsheim is located near the town of Kolbsheim, in the French Department of Bas-Rhin, in Alsace. It is 15 kilometers southwest of Strasbourg, overlooking the plain of Alsace. The chateau has two wings, the oldest built in 1703. The upper part of the garden is geometric French garden, decorated with ponds, fountains, hedges and sculpted trees. The lower part is an English park, with many hundred-year old trees.
