Château de Chalmazel

The Château de Chalmazel is a castle situated in the commune of Chalmazel, in the Loire département of France. It is located in the Haut-Forez, between the towns of Saint-Étienne and Thiers. Its name in medieval times was Saint-Jehan-des-Neiges. The castle dominates the valley of the Lignon and it was built to be an impregnable fortress on the instructions of the Count of Forez.

Château d'Aulteribe

The Château d'Aulteribe is a castle located in Sermentizon, in the Puy-de-Dôme département, Auvergne, central France. Built at the end of the Middle Ages, it was altered and restored in the second half of the 19th century. Many of the medieval-style features of the building were added at this time. In 1954, the Marquis Henri de Pierre, the last owner, bequeathed the château and its contents to the French state.

Château de Bostfranchet

The ruins of the Château de Bostfranchet can be found on the Bostfranchet estate in the Viverols canton of the Puy-de-Dôme département, France. Occupied from the 12th century by the Pelet family, originally from the Narbonnais region, Bostfranchet is the cradle of the Beaufranchet (or Pelet de Beaufranchet) family. A manor house there was fortified under Charles I, Duke of Bourbon; walls, fortified towers and ditches were built. All that remains now is a ruined tower of the castle.
