The Nièvre is a river in central France, a right tributary of the Loire. It flows through the département Nièvre. Its source in Champlemy. It flows generally south, through Guérigny, Urzy, and empties into the Loire in the town centre of Nevers.

Roman Catholic Diocese of Nevers

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Nevers, is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic church in France. The diocese comprises the department of Nièvre, in the Region of Bourgogne. Suppressed by the Concordat of 1801 and united to the See of Autun, it was re-established in 1823 as suffragan of the archdiocese of Sens and took over a part of the former Diocese of Autun and a part of the ancient Diocese of Auxerre.

Nevers Cathedral

Nevers Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Cyr-et-Sainte-Julitte de Nevers) is a Roman Catholic cathedral, dedicated to Saints Cyricus and Julitta, and a national monument of France, located in the town of Nevers. It is the seat of the Bishop of Nevers. The present cathedral is a combination of two buildings, and possesses two apses. The apse and transept at the west end are the remains of a Romanesque church, while the nave and eastern apse are in the Gothic style and belong to the 14th century.

2005 French Grand Prix

The 2005 French Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race, held on July 3, 2005, at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, near Magny-Cours, in France. The race, contested over 70 laps, was the tenth round of the 2005 Formula One season, and was won by Renault driver Fernando Alonso. McLaren driver Kimi Räikkönen, Alonso's main title rival, finished the race in second position whlist Michael Schumacher completed the podium for the Ferrari team.
