Ouche

The Ouche is a river in the Côte-d'Or department in eastern France. It is a right tributary of the Saône, which it joins in Échenon. Its source is in Lusigny-sur-Ouche. The Ouche flows through the following towns: Bligny-sur-Ouche, La Bussière-sur-Ouche, Fleurey-sur-Ouche, Velars-sur-Ouche, Dijon, Longvic and Varanges. Part of the Canal de Bourgogne runs through the Ouche valley.

Baume Abbey

Baume Abbey, in its village of Baume-les-Messieurs, Jura, France, was founded as a Benedictine abbey not far from the still-travelled Roman road linking Besançon and Lyon. It stands near the source of the Dard in the Jura, France. Around it the picturesque village of Baume-les-Messieurs is congregated. The abbey is famous for its sixteenth-century retable.

Dard

The River Dard is a short (2.1 km) tributary of the River Seille in the department of Jura in France. The Dard rises in the steephead valley known as the Reculée de Baume, and flows through the valley to the village of Baume-les-Messieurs, where it joins the Seille. At its source there is a notable series of caves, which can be visited.
