Canton of Montréal, Gers

The French canton of Montréal lies in the Gers which is itself a component of the region Midi-Pyrénées, in the area formerly called Gascony, southwest France. The canton lies around Montréal in the arrondissement of Condom, the altitudes vary between 64 m. at Fourcès and 186 m at Castelnau-d'Auzan with an average altitude of 143 m. The canton is situated on the limits of the departements Lot-et-Garonne and Landes.

Château de Larressingle

The Château de Larressingle is a ruined castle in the commune of Larressingle in the Gers département of France. The castle was built in the second half of the 13th century. The second and third floors were added by Arnaud Orthon de Lomagne, Bishop of Condom, between 1285 and 1305. Windows were added at various times in the 15th and 16th centuries, particularly between 1521 and 1545 when extra works were carried out for Monseigneur de Grossolles, including the construction of a hexagonal tower.

Condom Cathedral

Condom Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Condom) is a Catholic church and a former cathedral, and a national monument of France, located in Condom, Gers. It was formerly the seat of the Bishops of Condom; the diocese was added to the Archdiocese of Auch in 1822.

Château de Lasserre

The Château de Lasserre is a ruined castle in the commune of Béraut in the Gers département of France. With origins in the 14th century, the castle was adapted and altered in the 16th and 18th centuries. It has been listed since 1927 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.
