Ailette (river)

The Ailette is a 59.5 km long river in the Aisne département, eastern France. Its source is at Sainte-Croix. It flows generally west-northwest. It is a left tributary of the Oise into which it flows between Manicamp and Quierzy, 30 km northeast of Compiègne. On most of its course, it shares its valley with the Canal de l'Oise à l'Aisne.

Le Lac d'Ailette

Le Lac d'Ailette is the newest Center Parcs holiday village which opened in 2007. The village is located near Chamouille in the Picardy region of France and is owned by Center Parcs NV. It is located on the shore of the lac de l'Ailette, east of the D967 and is marketed at Center Parcs' most picturesque resort to its setting on a large artificial lake (created in 1984).

Laon Cathedral

Laon Cathedral (Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Laon) is one of the most important examples of the Gothic architecture of the 12th and 13th centuries, earlier than the cathedrals of Sens and Notre Dame of Paris and ranking with them in importance. It is located in Laon, Picardy, France, and is the seat of the Bishop of Laon. It has been listed among the Monuments Historiques since 1840.

Laon-Athies Air Base

Laon-Athies Air Base is an abandoned military airfield, which is located near the city of Laon in the Aisne department of France. Its history begins before World War II, when it was originally a grass civil airdrome. During the German occupation of France (1940–1944), the Luftwaffe developed the airdrome into a major military airfield, basing a variety of planes at the airfield, as well as using it as a maintenance and supply depot.
