Château de Chambonneau

The Château de Chambonneau is a castle in the commune of Gizay in the Vienne département of France that still shows good parts of the original "chateau-fort". It is built down a hill, close to the Miosson (a tributary of the Clain river). The original castle dates from the time of Philippe VI, the beginning of the 14th century. The present château dates between 1335 and 1609. The remaining original parts represent the keep and 75% of the towers and lower buildings.

La Vallée des Singes

La Vallée des Singes ("The Valley of the Monkeys") is a primate park in Romagne, France. The park is home to primates including gorillas, chimpanzees, lemurs and dwarf monkeys. La Vallée des Singes was founded by Wim Mager who had previously founded the Apenheul Primate Park in the Netherlands in 1971, which is the first free-roaming primate park in the world.

Jardin botanique universitaire de Poitiers

The Jardin botanique universitaire de Poitiers (33 hectares) is a botanical garden and arboretum maintained by the University of Poitiers. It is located at 443 Route du deffend, Mignaloux-Beauvoir, Vienne, Poitou-Charentes, France, and open daily without charge. The garden is located on the former domaine du Deffend, which was purchased by the state in 1962 and in 1996 established as a regional plant heritage center.
