Schönbuch

The Schönbuch is an almost completely wooded area south west of Stuttgart and part of the Southern German Escarpment Landscape. In 1972 the centre zone of the Schönbuch became the first natural park in Baden-Württemberg. A geological trail is located in the natural park Schönbuch at Kirnberg and was created in 1977 to the 500th anniversary of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen.

Sporthalle (Böblingen)

Sporthalle was an indoor arena in Böblingen, Germany. It opened in 1966 and was torn down in 2008. Sporthalle had a capacity to hold 6,500 people. The venue played host to six team handball competitions for the 1972 Summer Olympics in neighboring Munich. It hosted indoor sporting events, trade shows, TV shows, music concerts and other events.

Schloss Waldenbuch

The Schloss Waldenbuch served as a hunting lodge of the dukes of Württemberg. The core of the complex goes back to a castle that was already mentioned in 1381.

Böblingen Airport

Böblingen Airport was built in the mid-1920s for the city of Stuttgart in Germany. Bordered by Calwer Straße (K1073) and the E41, it lies northwest of Böblingen and south of the Daimler factory in Sindelfingen. An aircraft industry developed around this airfield, which was used by the military during the Second World War. On September 1, 1939 the airbase was the home station for the I/JG 52 (1st Group of Jagdgeschwader 52) which was flying the Bf109 E-1 fighter aircraft.
