Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion

Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion is a football ground in Sinsheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The 6,350-capacity stadium is the home of 1899 Hoffenheim II, and was home to the Hoffenheim senior side until their promotion to the First Bundesliga for 2008-09. It is named after SAP AG co-founder and 1899 Hoffenheim chairman, Dietmar Hopp. As the stadium does not meet the standards for the First Bundesliga, it has been replaced by the Rhein-Neckar Arena.

Battle of Wiesloch (1632)

The Battle of Wiesloch occurred on 16 August 1632 during the Thirty Years' War near the German city of Wiesloch, south of Heidelberg. A Swedish army led by Count Gustav Horn fought an army of the Holy Roman Empire led by Count Ernesto Montecuccoli. The battle resulted in a Swedish victory.

NKR (NDB)

NKR is the callsign of an NDB with a range of 50 NM at Leimen-Ochsenbach, Germany, situated at 49°12' 12" N and 8°44'E. NKR, which transmits on the frequency 292 kHz, uses as antenna a 20 metre tall free-standing lattice tower with a weight of 1200 kilogramms, which is insulated against ground. The tower which was built at the 1970s is equipped for its electrical lengthing with a horizontal cross on its top.

Battle of Mingolsheim

The Battle of Mingolsheim was fought on 27 April 1622, near the German village of Wiesloch, 14 miles south of Heidelberg (and 5 miles south of Wiesloch), between a Protestant army under General von Mansfeld and the margrave of Baden against a Roman Catholic army under Count Tilly. Early in the spring of 1621, mercenary forces under the command of Georg Friedrich, Margrave of Baden-Durlach crossed the Rhine River from Alsace to junction with forces under Ernst von Mansfeld.
