Edelweiss Vacation Village and Campground

The Edelweiss Vacation Village and Campground is a U.S. Department of Defense recreational facility that is a part of the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort in Garmisch, Germany. The Vacation Village and Campground consists of a collection of deluxe and rustic wood cabins located on Artillery Kaserne in Southern Garmisch, and a gravel campsite in the Loisach River Valley. The Tent and Gravel Campsites are closed from October to Mid-May, but the cabins are open all year round.

Garmisch Classic

Garmisch Classic is an alpine ski resort in southern Germany, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria. In the Bavarian Alps, its maximum elevation is 2,050 m above sea level at Osterfelderkopf, with a vertical drop of 1,350 m . Other peaks are Krezjoch at 1,719 m and Kreuzeck at 1,651 m . The area hosted the World Championships in 2011 and 1978, and alpine skiing debuted at the Winter Olympics here in 1936.

Kramerspitz

Kramerspitz (or The Kramer) is a mountain overlooking the Garmisch side of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, Germany. It forms the most visible western boundary of the Loisach River Valley. It stands across the valley from the Wank to the east on the Partenkirchen side.

Eibsee Cable Car

The Eibsee Cable Car, which opened in 1963, is a cable car which connects the lower station near lake Eibsee with the top station at 2,950 metres above sea level next to the summit of Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain on the border to Austria. The cable car was built to provide a faster access to the Zugspitze from its German side, as the cog railway from Garmisch-Partenkirchen does not go directly to the summit and takes much longer.

Edelweiss Lodge and Resort

Edelweiss Lodge and Resort is a U.S. Department of Defense owned recreation hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Located in the Bavarian Alps near the Austrian border, the facility opened in September 2004 at a cost of $80 million. Edelweiss Lodge and Resort was built to replace a series of older Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC) hotels. The hotel and its facilities are open to U.S.
