Laufenthal
Laufenthal is a village in the Upper Palatinate, belonging to the administrative district (Landkreis) of Regensburg and the market town of Hemau. Technically a ward (Ortsteil) of Hemau, Laufenthal lies about five kilometers from the town, near the river Laaber. It has a medieval castle, and the remains of a Celtic settlement. Prüfening Abbey
Prüfening Abbey was a Benedictine monastery on the outskirts of Regensburg in Bavaria, Germany. Since the beginning of the 19th century it has also been known as Prüfening Castle (Schloss Prüfening). Notably, its extant dedicatory inscription, commemorating the founding of the abbey in 1119, was created by printing and is a unique document of medieval typography.

Kleines Schulerloch inscription
The runic inscription found in the Kleines Schulerloch cave, Altmühltal, near Essing, Bavaria was discovered in 1937. It reads birg : leub : selbrade, probably meaning "Birg, beloved of Selbrad", next to a drawing of an ibex or stag. From the 1950s the inscription had been considered a hoax by many scholars.
