Jura Museum

The Jura Museum situated in Eichstätt, Germany is a Natural History Museum that has an extensive exhibit of Jurassic fossils from the quarry of Solnhofen, including marine reptiles, pterosaurs, and one specimen of the early bird Archaeopteryx. The latest acquisition of the museum is the well preserved skeleton of the coelurosaur Juravenator. The museum also have an aquarium of tropical fish.

Eichstätt

Eichstätt (formerly also Eichstädt or Aichstädt) is a town in the federal state of Bavaria, Germany, and capital of the District of Eichstätt. It is located along the Altmühl River, at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:48|53|30|N|11|11|0|E|region:DE_type:city(13,078) | |name= }}, and had a population of 13,078 in 2002. It is home to the Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, the lone Catholic university in Germany.

The Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt is a Roman Catholic university in Eichstätt and Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. The Catholic University Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (CU) is the only Roman Catholic university in the German-speaking world. Compared to other German universities it is a rather small institution (with 4800 students in summer 2005); nevertheless, it is the largest private university in Germany.

Bürgermeister-Müller-Museum

The Bürgermeister-Müller-Museum is a natural history museum in Solnhofen, Germany. It was founded in 1954, when the mayor Friedrich Mueller brought his private collection to the public. The museum collection, which extends over two floors, mainly consists of fossils from the Solnhofen Plattenkalk and includes pterosaurs, one of the eleven known specimens of the Jurassic bird Archaeopteryx and an extensive collection of fossil fish.
