Polling Abbey

Polling Abbey is a former monastery in Polling bei Weilheim, district of Weilheim-Schongau, in Upper Bavaria, Germany. According to legend, the founder was Duke Tassilo III of Bavaria in about 750, but it seems more likely that the founders were members of the powerful Bavarian noble family of the Huosi. Initially this was a Benedictine monastery, but later became a house of Augustinian canons.

Andechs Abbey

The Benedictine abbey of Andechs is a place of pilgrimage on a hill east of the Ammersee in the Landkreis of Starnberg in Germany, in the municipality Andechs. Andechs Abbey is famed for its flamboyant Baroque church (1712) and its brewery. Composer Carl Orff is buried in the church.

Rottenbuch Radio Tower

The Rottenbuch Radio Tower is a transmitting tower of the Vodafone company in Rottenbuch, a part of the municipality of Peiting near Schongau in Germany. The framework tower, a glued girder binder construction made from European Douglas fir timber, is 60 meters high. The overall height of the construction, including the antennae on the top, is 62.5 meters. The structure is held together by steel pegs.
