Battle of Kassel (1945)

The Battle of Kassel was a four-day struggle between the U.S. Army and the German Army in April 1945 for Kassel, a medium-sized city northeast of Frankfurt am Main. The battle resulted as the U.S. Third Army pushed northeast from the region of Frankfurt and Mainz. The battle opened on April 1, 1945 and ended with an American victory three days later. Opposing the Third Army's 80th Infantry Division were an infantry replacement battalion, some heavy tanks, and anti-aircraft guns.

Botanischer Garten Kassel

The Botanischer Garten Kassel, also known as the Botanischer Garten der Stadt Kassel, is a municipal botanical garden located in the Park Schönfeld at Bosestraße 15, Kassel, Hesse, Germany. It is open daily without charge. The garden was first created in 1912 as a school garden, but in 1982 converted into a general green area. Restoration began in 2002, with the aim of gradually re-establishing the garden's 1950s-era features and creating new theme gardens.

Eissporthalle Kassel

Eissporthalle Kassel is an arena in Kassel, Germany in the southeast end of the Karlsaue park. It opened in 1977 and holds 6,100 spectators. It is primarily used for ice hockey and is the home arena of Kassel Huskies of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.
