Teterower See

The Teterower See is a lake within the Mecklenburgische Schweiz und Kummerower See Nature Park in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is situated immediately to the north-east of the town of Teterow, and is about 200 kilometres north of Berlin. The lake is approximately 3.3 kilometres long and 1.9 kilometres wide, with an average depth of 4 metres and a maximum depth of 10.7 metres . It has an area of 3.36 square kilometres, and is only 2.4 metres above sea level.

Battle of Verchen

The Battle of Verchen (German: Schlacht bei Verchen) was a battle between Saxons and West Slavic Obotrites on 6 July 1164. The Obotrites were attacked by Saxons and Danes in 1160, resulting in the death of the Obotrite prince, Niklot, and the partition of the Obotrite lands. Niklot's son Pribislav rose in revolt in 1163, capturing the castles of Malchow and Quetzin.
