Münster-Handorf Airfield

Münster-Handorf Airfield is a former military airfield located in Germany about 5 miles east-northeast of Münster (Nordrhein-Westfalen); approximately 250 miles west of Berlin. Fliegerhorst Münster-Handorf was one of the first Luftwaffe airfields, being established in 1935. After being captured by Allied Forces in April 1945, it briefly became an Allied airfield at the end of the war, then being used as a Garrison for the Royal Air Force as part of the Army of Occupation until 1949.

Fernmeldeturm Münster

The Fernmeldeturm Münster (Telecommunication Tower Münster) or, colloquial: "Fernsehturm" (TV-Tower) is the modern landmark of Münster completed in 1985/86. The 229.5 metre high tower, which is used for directional services and TV-, VHF- and UHF-transmission is not accessible to the public. The basket of this tower, which carries also the name "Münster 42" has a diameter of 40 metres and is situated at a height of 108 metres.

Bever (Ems)

The Bever is an approximately 20 km long river in western Germany, right tributary of the river Ems. It has its springs in the Teutoburg Forest. It runs though the northern part of North Rhine-Westphalia and flows into the Ems near Telgte (Westbevern). Another town on the Bever is Ostbevern.

Historical City Hall of Münster

The Historical City Hall of Münster was one of the theatres of the negotiations of the Peace of Westphalia which concluded the Thirty Years' War in Europe and the Eighty Years' War between Spain and the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands. It was the site of the Peace of Münster of 1648. Located in the centre of Prinzipalmarkt, it is the city's predominant landmark - besides Münster Cathedral. Having been destroyed during World War II, it was rebuilt true to the original from 1950 to 1958.
