Asante Traditional Buildings

Asante Traditional Buildings is a World Heritage Site in Ghana, which is a collection of 13 traditionally built buildings from the time of the Ashanti Empire in the area. The Asante Kingdom had its golden age in the 18th century, fell during the British occupation of the area from 1806 to 1901, and most Asante buildings of the period were destroyed during the area. Among other buildings, the royal mausoleum was destroyed by Baden-Powell in 1895.

The Amansie Central District is one of the twenty-seven (27) districts in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Its capital is Jacobu. The district was split off the Amansie East District in 2003.

Nkawie

Nkawie is a small town and is the capital of Atwima Nwabiagya district, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Nkawie is bounded by two other towns - Toase and Nkawie Panin. It is home to prosperous business men in Ghana. There is a government hospital, a fire service station, a secondary technical institution and other government institutions like the courts, education offices, health insurance office, etc. Nkawie is the home town of former Ghanaian president John Kufuor.
