Kastania is a village in Pieria, Greece. It is part of the municipal unit of Kolindros. Its population as of the 2001 census was 423. Haliacmon
The Haliacmon is the longest river in Greece, with a total length of 322 km . Haliacmon is the traditional English name for the river, but many sources cite the formerly official Katharevousa version of the name, Aliákmon. A village in Petrich Municipality, Blagoevgrad Province, Bulgaria, is named Novo Konomladi (Bulgarian: Ново Кономлади, "New Konomladi"). This is because it was mostly populated by Bulgarian refugees from Makrochori who moved to Bulgaria after the Balkan Wars of 1912–1913.
