Lachanas Military Museum

The Lachanas Military Museum (Greek: Στρατιωτικό Μουσείο Λαχανά) is a Military museum near Thessaloniki, Greece, dedicated to the Battle of Kilkis-Lahanas. The museum, which is visitable by appointment, chiefly contains mementoes of the Greek and Bulgarian military units which took part in the battle. In the forecourt there are three captured Bulgarian cannons, one of 12 cm calibre, one of 5 cm calibre, and one muzzle-loader.

Motorway 25 (Greece)

Motorway 25 is a motorway in Greece. It connects the Greek-Bulgarian border at Promachonas in the north with Nea Moudania on the Chalkidiki peninsula in the south, via the city of Thessaloniki. The section between Efkarpia and Kalamaria is shared with the A16, which serves as the eastern beltway of Thessaloniki (Greek: Εσωτερική Περιφεριακή Οδός, inner ring road). The motorway is partly under construction between the cities of Thessaloniki and Serres.

1978 Thessaloniki earthquake

The Great Thessaloniki Earthquake (Greek: Μεγάλος Σεισμός της Θεσσαλονίκης) was an earthquake that occurred on 20 June 1978, at 22:03 local time, and registered 6.6 on the moment magnitude scale. It was felt throughout northern Greece, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria. It was the largest seismic activity in the area since 1932.
